Mary Alan Ousley graduated from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration, majoring in Economics and Finance with a minor in Management. At Cumberland, she is a joint J.D./M.B.A. student and is actively involved on campus as Vice President of the Alabama Student Bar Association, Secretary of the Transactional Law Society, and an Academic Success Advisor. Her legal experience includes spending her 1L summer working with the Alabama Attorney General’s Office in the Consumer Interest Division and at Capell & Howard.

For Mary Alan, the best part of being on the Journal is the opportunity to sharpen her writing and editing skills while building a strong community with her peers. Among her favorite law school memories are celebrating Law Week events like Rascal Day and Barrister’s Ball with friends. Outside of her legal studies, Mary Alan enjoys trying new coffee shops, playing pickleball, and playing mahjong.
